The best and only form of birth control that is 100% effective against sexually transmitted diseases and unplanned pregnancy is ABSTINENCE.

Abstinence Resources

Teen Source- Offers information for students to become familiar with abstinence.

Abstinence Clearinghouse- Unites organizations that promote abstinence.

If you think you are ready to engage in sexual activities, then you better be ready to discuss ways to protect yourself.  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SAFE SEX, ONLY SAFER SEX.

There are a couple different type of birth control methods.  Besides abstinence, the next best are BARRIER methods.  They do not allow contact of the bodily fluids when used correctly.  Examples include condoms and the Realty or female condom.  Other examples include the sponge and diaphragm, but are NOT nearly as effective against STD's as abstinence (obviously) and condoms.  It is important to understand and research all forms of birth control before choosing one.
